Create a team
You need the Team plan to create a team. See Plans.1
Open the Team tab
Go to Settings and open the Team tab.
2
Create it
Click Create Team and give it a name. You become its owner.
3
Invite people
Under Invite someone, enter an email address, pick a role and click Send Invite.
An invite expires after 7 days. Sending a new invite to the same address replaces the pending
one. Owners and admins can revoke a pending invite from the Team tab.
Roles
A team has exactly one owner. You invite people as Admin, Developer or Viewer, and the default
is Developer.
What each role can do
Secrets
Only owners and admins see secrets: environment variable values, database passwords and deploy hook secrets. This holds whoever created the resource. Creating something inside a team does not make you its owner. Developers get two narrow exceptions so they can do their job:- Environment variables. A developer sees every variable name with its value masked. They can reveal one value at a time. Each reveal is recorded in the audit log with the variable’s name, never its value. If the record cannot be written, the reveal is refused. Reveals are rate limited.
- Their own databases. A developer who created a database can read its password and connection string, as long as they are still a developer or admin on the team.
An API key without the
secrets:read scope sees no secret at all, whoever owns it. See
API keys.Server console
The server console is a root shell on the server, so only owners and admins can open it. If an admin is demoted or removed while a console is open, Symplax closes that console straight away.Access follows current membership
Access comes from your place in the team right now, not from what you created.- Removing a member takes away their access immediately, including to apps and databases they created themselves.
- Their team API keys stop working. A key scoped to a team is refused once its owner is no longer a member of that team.
- Changing a role takes effect on their next request. The member gets an email telling them their new role.
